150 Million More Women Hungry

There are an estimated 150 million more food insecure women than men in the world. That’s three times the population of Ukraine. Sadly, the gap between the number of hungry women and men is growing. There are 8 times more women in the gap in 2021 than it was in 2018—and the implications of the Ukraine conflict will make it worse. Analyzing data from 2021, this report shows that across 109 countries, as gender inequality goes up, food security goes down.
