Relief Efforts in Tonga
CARE works to support the immediate needs of the people most severely affected by Cyclone Gita (2018) through provision of materials for improved shelter, access to household water collection and recovery of livelihoods. The project emphasizes the participation of women, girls and other marginalized groups in emergencies with a focus on the barriers to their meaningful participation in humanitarian decision-making.
