Relief Efforts in Togo
CARE’s programs in Togo particularly target women and girls. We support women’s agriculture through training, knowledge-sharing and access to savings and loans. We work to improve the quality of essential health services for women of reproductive age and children under five and improve their access to health services.
We help girls facing exploitative and hazardous child labor to gain access to education. We raise awareness around HIV and family planning and work on urban development and rehabilitation. Our programs help communities access water infrastructure, agro-forestry and other ways to earn a living. We also work in partnership with local organizations to help prevent the trafficking of children for sexual exploitation and child labor.
CARE began working in Togo in 1986.
