Relief Efforts in Nicaragua
From CARE’s original focus on education and primary healthcare, we expanded into agriculture, water, sanitation and preventive health. Today, CARE works through partners with poor communities to improve living standards through access to safe water, basic sanitation, quality healthcare, sustainable agriculture and natural resource management, and projects to improve incomes. In times of disaster we provide emergency relief to help people rebuild their lives and communities.
CARE began operations in Nicaragua in 1954-55, and then resumed from 1966 until the present.
