In Kyiv, a building at a children’s hospital specializing in the treatment of cancer and other severe diseases was hit. Children, their parents, and doctors were inside at the time of the shelling. The building sustained heavy damage.

In the city of Dnipro, a car service center and a residential building were struck. Casualties were reported, with dead and wounded people found throughout the area. The massive rocket attack resulted in over 40 deaths and more than 170 injuries of varying severity.

“Such attacks are a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian law,” emphasized Franziska Joerns, CARE Ukraine Deputy Country Director. “The deaths and injuries of children are an irreversible tragedy. Civilians and civilian infrastructure are not targets.”
