ABC News.com interviewed Sheba Crocker, CARE USA’s vice president for humanitarian policy and practice, during a segment about the UN security council’s resolution on sexual violence. Crocker said the resolution was disappointing, in that “a big piece missing that was watered down was an unwavering commitment by the international community to ensure that women and girls who have faced… sexual violence in the context of war have access to… critical health services.” Crocker said the U.S. needs to decide what message it intends to send to women and girls who have the human fundamental right to these services.
