The World Food Program USA interviewed Michelle Nunn, CARE president and CEO, as an influential female leader that is empowering women and girls to end hunger and poverty. Nunn shared that women and girls are the solution by exemplifying if female farmers had the same access to resources as men, then they could decrease world hunger by 100 to 150 million. Also, Nunn said that CARE is addressing the challenge of humanitarian momentum through the launch of CARE News, which tells impactful stories of possibility and hope where “CARE is not the hero [but the] real people in the communities where we work.” CARE has helped Nunn expand her humanitarian passion globally by showing “how interconnected the world really is,” she said.
