January 25, 2024– The rainy season has unleashed a double blow in southern Africa: devastating floods and a resurgence of the cholera crisis. The rising floodwaters are not just washing away homes and livelihoods but have also led to a rise in Cholera infections. Every day confirmed cases are increasing and more people tragically losing their lives to the disease. CARE is working with the respective health officials and other key stakeholders to address this growing crisis. We must act swiftly to stem this preventable cholera surge.
