The Atlanta Journal-Constitution highlighted how several Georgia entities, including CARE and U.S. Sen Johnny Isakson (R-GA), joined forces to get the Global Food Security Act passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama. The bipartisan legislation will reduce food insecurity for the nearly 800 million people worldwide who suffer from chronic hunger. “We really have seen it as an opportunity to be more effective, more transparent and more accountable around U.S. investments in food security,” CARE President and CEO Michelle Nunn told the AJC.
