The Nova Kakhovka dam disaster is simply devastating. Following the early morning events in southern Ukraine, at least 16,000 people have already been evacuated and thousands of residents in the city of Kherson are left without electricity.
This incident is already being referred to as the largest technological disaster in Europe in decades and demands the attention and support of the international community.
The Ukrainian people have already endured over a year of relentless fighting, and this tragic event has only further exacerbated their pain and suffering. CARE is joining with our partners in the Kherson region to assist in evacuation operations and provide essential non-food items, water, and equipment.
CARE stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and remains committed to providing lifesaving relief and support.
We will continue working together to bring hope and comfort to all those facing the unimaginable.
