Cocoa Life published an op-ed by Amoin Assahoure, farmer and president of VSLA of Assawlekro, Côte d’Ivoire, on how the VSLA projected has helped the villages advance and save money by empowering women farmers. Assahoure said her women’s group was able to launch a green entrepreneurship program with the help from CARE and Impactum to create nurseries for 150,000 shade trees that benefit the growth of a healthy forest and protect the women’s cocoa plants.
