CNN.com wrote an extensive piece on CARE’s Letters of Hope campaign that connected American students with refugee children around the world. The story included photos from students at a Boulder, Co. elementary school and refugee kids from Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya with special emphasis on the flowers that Safiyo, an 11-year-old Somalian refugee drew that CARE turned into tattoos for the Boulder kids. With the purity only found in children, Boulder student Blake Mechels said, “There’s so many people in the world who don’t have as much things I do, and despite that they still want to learn and help other people.”
