“I have always been in awe of the work CARE does worldwide and having the chance to travel to Sierra Leone with my team was life changing. The programs CARE runs and the effect they are having paves the way for real change in not just women’s lives, but for their communities and the country at large,” said CARE Global Advisory Council Member, Nigel Barker.
“I firmly believe that in the pathway to gender equality, men and boys also have an indispensable role to play, and I hope my participation can signal that partnership. But most importantly, these women’s struggles, sacrifices and successes give all of us courage to stand for equality and social justice.”
By centering women’s voices, the initiative showcased the resilience and strength of women across the globe, inspiring others to act.
The Anthem Awards have grown into the largest international recognition of social impact work, providing a platform for amplifying stories that create real change.
“Our approach to this campaign was to spotlight women around the world who are leaders in their communities,” CARE Chief Marketing Officer Monica Rowe said. “CARE is proud to partner with advocates like world-renowned photographer Nigel Barker to raise awareness and inspire even more people to join in our efforts to eradicate global poverty.”
