ATLANTA (Sep. 13, 2019) — CARE announced today the appointment of five new members of the CARE USA Board of Directors, a move aimed at broadening the organization’s global reach and impact to help save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. New board members include: Glenn Hutchins, Peter Beshar, Radhika Jones, Steve Joyce and Bill Mosakowski, who will each serve a three-year term from 2019-2022.
“CARE is thrilled to welcome Glenn Hutchins as the new co-chair of the CARE Board of Directors, as well as Peter Beshar, Radhika Jones, Steve Joyce and Bill Mosakowski,” said Michelle Nunn, president and CEO of CARE. “Each new member brings valuable expertise and diversity to the growing CARE board and will help bring new, innovative ideas to our poverty-fighting work around the globe.”
Glenn Hutchins joins Martha Brooks as co-chair of the board. Hutchins is currently the Chairman of North Island and a co-founder of Silver Lake. He is a director of AT&T and Virtu Financial; Co-Chairman of the Brookings Institution, as well as a board member of the Obama Foundation, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Center for American Progress. In addition to his extensive leadership experience, Hutchins is a co-founder of the Hutchins Family Foundation that supports research initiatives. Hutchins was previously a member of the CARE board from 1988 to 2004.

Peter Beshar is a respected thought leader on cyber security with a particular interest in the intersection of private enterprise and public policy. He serves as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Marsh & McLennan Companies, a Fortune 200 professional services firm of 75,000 employees. Beshar was appointed by President Obama to the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington D.C. He also serves as a Trustee of John Jay College and the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale University.
Radhika Jones is the fifth editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair since its modern revival in 1983. She previously held senior editorial roles at The New York Times, Time and The Paris Review. In December 2017, she joined Vanity Fair from the Times, where, since November 2016, she was Editorial Director of Books, overseeing daily and Sunday reviews and expanding the desk’s digital coverage at the intersection of books, news and ideas. As Deputy Editor at Time, Jones led the editorial and aesthetic direction of the weekly magazine and steered the multi-platform Time 100 and Person of the Year franchises. Prior to joining Time in 2008, Jones was the Managing Editor of The Paris Review, where she commissioned and edited fiction and nonfiction pieces. She also was the Managing Editor at Grand Street, an Editor at Artforum and the Arts Editor of The Moscow Times, where she began her career.
Stephen Joyce, CEO of Dine Brands Global, brings almost four decades of experience as a leader in the hospitality industry. In his accomplished career, Joyce has played a pivotal role in the expansion and reinvigoration of major hotel brands and dining companies including Marriott International, Choice Hotels International, and Dine Brands Global. He is also currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Service Source Autism Learning Center, a Fellow of the Culinary Institute of America, and a member of the Board of Directors for Hospitality Investors Trust, Inc., and the National Retail Federation.
Bill Mosakowski is the Founder, President and Chief Executive of Public Consulting Group, Inc., a consulting firm that serves clients in the health and human services and K-12 education, with a presence in six countries. Mosakowski has long emphasized the importance of serving the fiscal and operational needs of the public sector. Prior to his current position, he worked at Touche Ross (Deloitte), Harvard Community Health Plan and with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition to CARE, Mosakowski serves as Board Chair for St. Mary’s High School and the Catholic Schools Foundation of Boston.
