WASHINGTON–CARE, the global humanitarian and development organization, is urging policymakers to work quickly to end the government shutdown, which threatens lifesaving programs around the world.
David Ray, CARE USA Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, said:
“Against the backdrop of unprecedented human suffering around the world, America’s leadership and lifesaving foreign assistance programs are more important than ever. But the ongoing government shutdown is threatening the ability of these programs to deliver much-needed support to those most vulnerable. CARE calls on the Administration and new Congress to quickly reopen the government.”
