On November 8, CARE hosted its 6th annual Impact Awards in New York City, honoring four people who have had significant impact in the world. Centered on the theme of a common human trait – our heartbeat – CARE honored Bea Perez and James Quincey of The Coca-Cola Company with the Impact Award for Corporate Leadership; Andrew J. Young and Carolyn Young, of the Andrew J. Young Foundation, with the Impact Award for Lifetime Achievement; and Radhika Jones, Editor in Chief of Vanity Fair, with the Impact Award for Visionary Leadership.
The event was hosted by Deborah Roberts and Al Roker, featured legendary percussionist Sheila E., and had a special appearance by President Bill Clinton, who presented the Impact Award for Lifetime Achievement to the Youngs. With 400+ attendees, the event raised $3.1 million for CARE’s work around the world.
