Previously, Ramesh was the Country Director for CARE Bangladesh. Prior to that, Ramesh led three country teams for transformative impact, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Ethiopia, with Mercy Corps, and worked in different other senior roles with CRS, Medical Teams International, Hope Worldwide, and Counterpart International.
Ramesh is a very seasoned leader, with a deep knowledge and experience in Asia in humanitarian and development sector. He brings to the RD role over 26 years of leadership experience for large-scale humanitarian responses including recovery for natural disasters, refugees and IDPs, and development/resilience work in India, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. Ramesh is passionate about building and managing high performing teams.
He is a senior manager with track record in resource mobilization with institutional donors (USAID, ECHO, EC, DFID/FCDO, SIDA, DANIDA, WFP, UNOCHA, UNHCR, etc.), private foundations and engaged Big Bets philanthropy. He has successfully built lasting partnership and alliances with government, communities, and private sector for systemic change and impact. Ramesh also brings in technical expertise in sectors of health, food security, nutrition, financial inclusion, market system development, and climate change.
Ramesh holds a MPhil. in Political Studies from School of Social Sciences in Jawaharlal Nehru University, India.
