Statement by Michelle Nunn, CARE USA, President & CEO:
February 13, 2024 — The Senate passage of over $9.2 billion of critical humanitarian assistance for people trapped in conflict zones is welcome and desperately needed. It’s vital that the House take up this legislation immediately and pass it without onerous amendments that would defeat the purpose of the aid.
We also implore President Biden to use every diplomatic tool at his disposal to ensure all actors uphold International Humanitarian Law in conflict and facilitate immediate full access to Gaza so that this aid reaches those in critical need.
