    • Learn from CARE policy experts about the impact of our policy asks, the current state of play on Capitol Hill, and the critical role your advocacy plays in protecting U.S. international assistance that saves lives and ensures global stability.
  • 3:00 – 3:30 PM: Break
  • 3:30 – 3:40 PM: Remarks and Presentation of Awards by Michelle Nunn, CARE USA CEO and President

Wednesday, March 5th

  • 7:00 a.m 7:45 a.m: Breakfast at hotel
  • 7:55 a.m: Meet in hotel lobby and depart for Capitol Hill on buses
  • 8:15 a.m.: Group pictures in front of the U.S. Capitol Building
  • 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Congressional Meetings
    • Full day of meetings on Capitol Hill with Members of Congress and their staff. Refer to your Soapbox schedule for details on your individual meetings.
    • 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: International Women’s Day Luncheon at Top of the Hill
      • 1 Constitution Ave NE, Washington, D.C. 20002
      • Lunch will begin at 12 p.m.; Program will begin at 12:30 p.m.
      • Featuring remarks from Members of Congress, Global Women Leaders Julissa Perdomo and Saba Gebremedhin, and actress and CARE Ambassador, Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

Getting Around D.C.

The Washington Marriott Capitol Hill is conveniently located near the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro Station on the Red Line, making it easily accessible by public transit. If you’re arriving by air, the closest airports are Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Dulles International Airport (IAD). Both are accessible by Metro — DCA is on the Blue Line, while IAD is on the Silver Line.

For getting around the city, the Metro is the fastest and most efficient option. Ride-sharing services and taxis are also readily available for added convenience.
