Global Innovation Hub

CARE staff members celebrate in front of a mural that says,
United States of America

In 2019, CARE USA launched the CARE Global Innovation Hub at our Atlanta headquarters.

The Innovation Hub is both a physical space for working and convening and a catalyst for virtual conversations and collaboration.

In short, the Innovation Hub does three things:

Innovate

We bring proven emergency response policies and programs from around the world to launch in the U.S.

Connect

We house and connect leading organizers, community groups, and experts to solve our most complicated challenges in emergency response, including overcoming gender, race, and health barriers to resources and assistance.

Amplify

We amplify leading voices and ideas around the U.S. and the world through our proven fellowship program and renowned speakers.

CARE Power Panel: Our Monthly Speaker Series

CARE Power Panels are monthly discussions providing engaging dialogue between community leaders on practices and challenges in centering gender and equity in emergency response. Each discussion includes three expert panelists, typically women, who speak from a diverse range of sectors on the month’s topic. Each session includes a Q&A with audience members.

In partnership with the UPS Foundation, CARE delivered six Power Panels discussions in 2023, with a total of 500+ attendees, highlighting women speakers and focusing on emergency response in BIPOC communities within the Gulf Coast. Topics addressed have included: Gender Gaps in Emergency Response, Women Leading in Emergencies, Girls’ Education During Emergencies, Press Coverage in Emergencies, Food Assistance in Emergencies, and Cash Assistance During Emergencies.
