Devex quoted Dar Vanderbeck, CARE’s chief innovation officer, and Marilia Bezerra, CARE Enterprises’ managing partner about the importance of ensuring philanthropic efforts are targeting the people most in need by incorporating local entities. CARE’s newly launched Embark program will include locals to help create innovative and sustainable solutions, which Bezerra said is a way for philanthropists supporting gender justice initiatives to partner with a NGO and efficiently make a transformation.
