In response to the recent U.S. presidential election, a quarter (25 percent) of Americans either already have or plan to increase their support for nonprofits and charities, according to a new online survey commissioned by CARE. Consumers are also committed to donating more. The poll found that one in four people said they were increasing their support of charities after the presidential election. What’s more, the study showed that one in three people were interested in working with people of different political views to support charity. “That was a big positive – not only were they twice as likely to increase their support, but they also were more interested in working with people who had differing political views, Tolli Love, CARE’s vice president of fundraising and marketing told Marketwatch.com. Read the story here and an op-ed on the topic in the Tahlequah Daily Press and a story in The Non Profit Times.
